Q: What is this site all about?
A: This is my personal web site. I'm using it to promote my services and
to publicize the reseller agreements I have reached with vendors. I also
use it to drive traffic to my
blog.
Q: Why do you focus on both communication
and technology?
Aren't they they different skills?
A: To me they are not
different skills. I bought my first PC in 1988 and was immediately hooked
on applying new technologies to my communication-related tasks and projects.
Computers gradually morphed from a hobby into part of what I do professionally,
so much so that I became a Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in 2000.
Q: With multiple skills and proficiencies, how do you keep from "being
all over the place?"
A: It's hard. I strive to approach everything I do as a communication project
consultant first. It helps make my skills all fit together. Multiple skill
sets seem to be a trait of most Myers-Briggs
ENTPs
and ENTJs
like me; I'm on the cusp between the two types.
Q: What's with that crazy floating head thingy on your web pages?
A: It's an homage to my father.
Many years ago he did marketing for retail companies that were either liquidating inventories or going out of business. While rummaging through trunks full of his stuff in my sister's basement, I found several copies of a 1930's era newspaper advertisement he did. In the middle of the two-page spread was line-art of my dad's floating head saying he was the man with the plan and to come on in and make him an offer. When I came up with something similar while playing around with Photoshop, I was reminded of the ad and decided to use it.
Q: What's with this focus on a 150-word
limit?
A: I believe that brevity is crucial to communication, especially in this
fast-paced world we find ourselves in. I'm as guilty as just about anyone
about being wordy, but I work hard to cut back on volume to make my meanings
more clear cut.
Q: Is Tim Tebow human?
A: No.
Q: How do I get registered at your tech store?
A:
Email
me and ask to become a client. Include your name, address,
telephone number and the email address you'd like to use for your account.
I'll set you up at my store. Then I'll even give you a "no markup"
discount for the first item you purchase there; that is, you'll pay only
what the wholesaler charges me for it.
Q: If I need to buy something from your tech store, will you be able
to help me with my selection?
A: Yes. I strive to keep on top of the latests technical news and reviews.
If I don't know the answer, I'll find out for you.
Q: Can you give me any special deals on things I purchase from your
tech store?
A: Yes. I have quite a bit of flexibility on pricing, especially on larger
purchases. Give me a call at 850.942.6329 and let me know what you want.
I'll give you the best rate that I can. Sometimes — sometimes
— I won't be able to get the lowest price, so you should compare my
quote to other vendors' prices.
Q: What is the meaning of life?
A: This is not the right
place for such answers.
